These are the questions that actually arrive, answered the way we would answer them in person. If your question is not here, the contact page works, and the product docs in this section go deeper on each surface.
Is the Suede IP Registry currently accepting new activity?
No. A file fingerprint, timestamp, or creator claim is provenance evidence: it does not grant copyright or adjudicate ownership. Registration is live and free of charge beyond about a cent in network gas, but it is a claim you sign, not a right the registry confers.
Do I need a crypto wallet to use Suede?
Not to start using Suede's creator and social products. A wallet may be required for a specific on-chain or x402 payment workflow. Check the live product and payment requirements before signing anything.
What does it cost?
The Workspace has free and paid tiers; the pricing section on the homepage and the subscription page at app.suedeai.ai carry the current numbers, and those pages are canonical over anything written here. Agent endpoints are pay-per-call, priced by whoever publishes them.
Can I stop AI companies from training on my music?
No technical registry can physically prevent a bad actor from ingesting a public file. Preserve your source records, publish clear terms where appropriate, and use platform reporting or legal channels when necessary. Suede does not claim that a machine-readable statement guarantees compliance.
Does uploading or posting transfer ownership to Suede?
An upload or social post does not by itself transfer copyright to Suede. Review the terms for any separate paid-agent workflow before agreeing to it; those terms control that specific transaction.
What should I preserve outside Suede?
Keep your own source files, drafts, session history, contributor agreements, licenses, and dated correspondence. Do not make one platform or blockchain record the only copy of your evidence.
Is Suede only for musicians?
Musicians are the first and deepest audience, and the product language reflects that. Suede also builds general creator tools and agent workflows for media, but availability and terms vary by product.
What is x402, in one paragraph?
An open standard for paying over HTTP: a server can respond to a request with machine-readable payment requirements, and the caller can settle them with a signed stablecoin payment and retry. It exists so software agents can buy things without accounts, invoices, or humans. Suede uses it as the payment rail for agent commerce, with USDC on Base as the settlement asset.
How is Suede different from a distributor like DistroKid, or a protocol like Story?
Distributors focus on delivery to stores, while IP protocols focus on rights primitives. Suede builds creator surfaces and paid agent workflows. The IP Registry is a separate workflow and should not be inferred from using Studio, Social, Distro, or an x402 endpoint.
