Strumly and Muse

Strumly is Suede's AI guitar coach; Muse is the musician companion chat. The practice-room end of the Suede ecosystem, where work begins before it is registered.

Two apps for the practice room

Most of Suede deals with work after it exists: registering it, sharing it, licensing it, funding it. Strumly and Muse sit earlier in the day, while the work is still being made.

Strumly, at strumly.suedeai.ai, is an AI guitar coach. Muse, at muse.suedeai.ai, is a musician companion: a chat surface for working through ideas, questions, and the daily texture of being a musician.

Strumly

Strumly is for guitarists who want a coach that meets them where they are: practice guidance, feedback, and structure without scheduling a human teacher for every session. It is built by the same shop that ships the rest of Suede, which shows up in the details: it is a musician's tool first, not a chat wrapper with a guitar sticker on it.

Alongside Strumly, the Suede network includes related guitar surfaces, FretPulse for guitar care and a chord library among them, linked from the Explore menu on this site.

Muse

Muse is the open-ended companion: a place to think out loud about a lyric, a mix decision, a release plan, or the question you would ask a bandmate at 1am if you had one. It is deliberately less structured than Strumly. Where Strumly coaches a skill, Muse keeps you company through the work.

Why these live inside an ownership company

Two reasons, one practical and one philosophical.

The practical one: the moment of creation is the best moment to capture provenance. A riff you worked out in a practice session, a lyric that came together in a chat, these are the earliest artifacts of a work's existence. Tools that are present at that moment can make registration a natural next step instead of a separate chore. The path from "I made something today" to "it is on the record" should be short.

The philosophical one: Suede's bet is that AI should expand what musicians can do, not replace what they are. A coach and a companion are the clearest expression of that. They make the human better at the human part, and the rest of the ecosystem exists to make sure the human owns what results.

What they are not

Neither app registers works automatically, spies on your sessions, or claims any interest in what you create while using them. What you make with your hands and your instrument is yours; when you want it on the record, registration is explicit and takes minutes.

Getting started

Both are web apps: strumly.suedeai.ai and muse.suedeai.ai. Suede also ships iOS apps in this family; the iOS page on this site tracks the current line.
