The practice room for voice
Suede Sing is the vocal counterpart to Strumly's guitar coaching. It runs in a browser tab: nothing to install, no signup for the free tools, and the audio analysis happens on your own device rather than on a server.
What is in it
- Pitch studio — sing into the mic and watch your pitch trace against target notes, live
- Vocal range test — find your lowest and highest notes and the voice type they imply
- Guided warmups — warm-up exercises scored as you sing along
- Ear training and breath work — interval and pitch-matching games, and timed sustain exercises
- Song practice and a take recorder — public-domain melodies transposed into your range, and playback of your own takes
- Practice tools and a progress tracker — metronome, keyboard and drone, plus range and accuracy over time
The singer library
Sing publishes a reference library of famous singers' vocal ranges, each drawn on one keyboard so a reader can put their own range beside it. It is browsable by voice type, and the extremes are ranked separately.
These are the figures a singer is commonly cited as covering, not lab measurements, and an extreme note is usually a recorded moment rather than an everyday working range. The reference page on vocal range by voice type covers what those categories do and do not settle.
The books
The Voice Atlas and The Measured Voice are Sing's long-form references on range, tone and technique. Their contents and opening chapters are free to read; the full books come with Suede Pro, alongside pitch analysis on recorded takes and range charted over time.
What it is not
Sing does not register a work, prove authorship, or publish licensing terms — that is the IP Registry. A range readout is a practice aid, not a clinical or medical assessment of a voice.
