Chrome extension · on-device audit
Suede Lens audits creator identity, rights, provenance, structured data, SEO and answer-engine signals in one private side panel. Export the findings as a Page Passport.
Suede Lens is a Chrome extension for auditing the machine-readable identity, rights, provenance, search, and answer signals published by a webpage.
The five-part reading
The score is a map, not a verdict. Every point traces back to a visible field, a structured value, or a missing piece you can repair.
Title, description, canonical, indexing, language, viewport, H1, and heading order.
JSON-LD, specific schema types, named entities, authorship, dates, FAQs, and direct definitions.
Creator attribution, license links, copyright notices, entity identity, and provenance markers.
Open Graph and X card titles, descriptions, images, URLs, types, and image descriptions.
Secure origin, publisher identity, image descriptions, and structured-data parse health.
A three-minute workflow
Suede Lens keeps the audit beside the page, so the source and the fix stay in the same field of view.
Select Suede Lens on the page you want to inspect. Access lasts only for that active tab.
Review the five signal categories and open the fix queue for exact missing fields.
Add truthful metadata and schema in priority order. Every suggestion names its evidence.
Copy Markdown for a handoff or download JSON for an issue, script, or agent workflow.

Signal record only. Ownership and license validity are not verified.
Portable by design
The export carries the source URL, creators, license links, rights notices, schema types, entity links, score, evidence, and open gaps. Teams can place it in a release folder, QA issue, content brief, or agent handoff.
Privacy is architecture
The extension reads only the active public webpage after you invoke it. It does not request blanket access to every site.
Version 1.0 performs the audit locally. It does not send page content, URLs, or audit results to Suede or third parties.
Chrome stores up to ten recent page titles, URLs, scores, and scan times on your device. You can clear them inside the extension.
Direct answers
Suede Lens is a privacy-first Chrome extension that audits the active webpage for creator attribution, machine-readable rights, provenance, structured data, SEO, answer-engine readiness, and social sharing metadata.
The answer engine optimization audit checks valid JSON-LD, specific schema types, named entities, authorship, publisher identity, dates, visible questions, and direct definition language that AI answer engines can extract and cite.
No. Version 1.0 performs the audit inside Chrome and sends no page content to Suede or third parties. A short scan history stays in Chrome's local extension storage until you clear it.
No. Suede Lens detects published rights and provenance signals. It does not verify authorship, ownership, legal clearance, or license validity.
Suede Lens scans public HTTP and HTTPS webpages after you click the toolbar action. Chrome internal pages and protected browser surfaces remain inaccessible by design.
