Start here

1. Download and extract the whole ZIP. Keep the numbered folders together; later projects reuse earlier files.
2. Open the main README. Inside the extracted last-shovel-companion folder, open README.md, then follow the README in your chosen project.
3. Try Project 1. Open projects/01-lead-magnet/lead-magnet.pdf in a PDF viewer. The supplied three-page guide is ready to read or print.

The archive is titled The Last Shovel Ever Sold companion projects. It contains the collection's companion examples using Maya's fictional Clearline business and synthetic teaching data. Make a separate copy before adapting the examples with your own records.

Run the reference checks

Use Python 3.10 or later and Node.js 18 or later for the core builds and checks. From the extracted companion folder, run:

python3 verify_companion.py

Follow each project's README for its setup and optional tools. The included BROWSER-CHECKLIST.md covers browser layout, clicks, downloads, and printing. Reading the supplied PDF requires only a PDF viewer.
